Dumpster Rentals in Utah | Locally Owned and Independently Operated

Dumpster Sizes
and Weight Limits.
15, 20 or 30 Yard.

Bubs Disposal rents three roll-off sizes: 15, 20 and 30 yard. Every size comes with weight included: 1, 2 or 3 tons. Most home projects fit a 15 or a 20. Here is the size, the weight and the space each one needs, so you know before you order.

Pick the Size Once

Two things decide your size.

What you are tossing, and how much of it there is. Bulky and light stuff, like furniture and cabinets, runs out of room first. Heavy stuff, like shingles and tile, runs out of weight first. Pick by room for the first kind and by weight for the second.

One ton is 2,000 pounds. Household junk rarely gets there. Shingles and tile get there fast. Tell us what you are loading and we will do the math with you on the phone.

Standard rental is 5 days. If you need longer, just text or call us to extend.

Size by Job

What size for your project.

Different jobs fill a bin differently. Here is how we usually size them.

JOB 01

Cleanouts and Yard Work

Furniture, boxes, carpet and yard waste are bulky and light. You run out of room before you run out of weight, so pick by volume.

A single garage or one room usually fits a 15 yard. A full basement or a house move-out usually wants the 20.

JOB 02

Kitchen, Bath and Flooring Remodels

Cabinets, drywall, flooring and fixtures. A one-room job fits a 15. A kitchen or a whole floor usually wants the 20.

Tile is the one to watch. It is heavy, so a tile job can hit the weight limit before the bin looks full. Tell us about it when you call.

JOB 03

Roofing

We recommend a 30 yard for roofing. Shingles are heavy, and the 30 gives you the most weight included at 3 tons.

Roofers know their own jobs. If you want a smaller bin for a smaller roof, that is your call and we will bring it.

JOB 04

Demo and Big Renovations

When everything goes, take the 30. It has the same footprint as the 20 with taller walls and 3 tons included.

Concrete and brick go in dedicated concrete bins, not a regular dumpster. Tell us when you call and we will send the right one.

See your job up there? Give us the address and we will get a bin on the schedule.
Space + Access

Will it fit in my driveway?

All three sizes are 8 feet wide. A 15 or 20 yard needs about 22 feet long by 8 feet wide of clear space. A 30 yard needs about 24 feet.

The truck also needs about 12 feet of clearance overhead to tip the bin off. Look up before you pick the spot: tree branches, power lines and garage overhangs are the usual problems.

Not sure? Text us a photo of the spot and we will tell you. If the bin has to sit on the street, double-check with your local government first.

Common Questions

Dumpster size questions, answered.

What is the difference between a 15, 20 and 30 yard dumpster?
Size and weight included. The 15 yard is 14 by 8 feet with 4.5 foot walls and 1 ton included. The 20 yard is 22 by 8 feet with 4.5 foot walls and 2 tons. The 30 yard is 22 by 8 feet with 6 foot walls and 3 tons.
I am stuck between two sizes. Which one?
Go up a size. An extra ton over your allowance is $49. A second bin is a whole second rental. Call or text 801-230-5045 and tell us what you are tossing, and we will size it with you.
Will it fit in my driveway?
A 15 or 20 yard needs about 22 feet long by 8 feet wide of clear space. A 30 needs about 24 feet. The truck needs about 12 feet overhead to tip the bin off. Not sure? Text us a photo of the spot.
What happens if I go over the weight allowance?
You pay $49 per extra ton, on every size. The 15 yard includes 1 ton, the 20 includes 2 tons and the 30 includes 3 tons, so you know the number before the bin shows up.
What size dumpster do I need for a roof?
We recommend a 30 yard for roofing. Shingles are heavy, and the 30 comes with the most weight included. If you know your job and want a smaller bin, we will bring it.
What size do I need to clean out a whole house?
Usually the 30. If the house is small or half empty, a 20 can do it. Call and describe it and we will tell you straight.
How long can I keep it?
Standard rental is 5 days. Need longer? Just text or call us to extend.
What if it fills up before I am done?
Text or call us to extend, or order a second bin. A second bin is a second paid rental, so if you are between two sizes, go bigger from the start.
How fast can you deliver?
Same-day delivery on most addresses. Call or text 801-230-5045 and we will get you on the schedule. Mon to Sat, 6am to 6pm.
Can I put concrete or dirt in a regular dumpster?
Heavy material eats your weight allowance long before it fills the bin. Concrete and brick go in dedicated concrete bins. Tell us what you have when you call and we will send the right one.
Can I throw out a fridge or an AC unit?
Yes, once a licensed tech drains the refrigerant. After it is drained, the unit can usually go in the dumpster. Call to confirm. Details are on our prohibited items page.
What can’t go in the dumpster?
Hazardous waste, tires, batteries and a few other things. The full list, with where to take each one instead, is on our prohibited items page.
Do you set up accounts for contractors?
Yes. Trade accounts get Net 30 invoicing. Roofers, remodelers and builders can ask for one on the first call.
